Visit The NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville

This story also appears on TheCityofWhiteville.com.

The NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville features a selection of permanent and interactive exhibits, plus hands-on learning areas both indoors and out, that help connect visitors to the natural world of southeastern North Carolina. Our indoor exhibits include both traditional dioramas as well as hands-on learning experiences centered on fossils and common scientific tools and concepts.

In our Naturalist Center are specimens of animals, plants, and rocks for visitors to look at and touch. Our outdoor spaces include a Nature Playspace, with several nature-based activities, a fossil pit, and the North Carolina Tree Trail.  There are regularly scheduled programs for young children up to age 8 (though older siblings are welcome!). We offer a host of program options for schools. Topics range from learning about the life cycle of animals to reading animal tracks and traces in our environment.

For more information about the programs and how to book one for your class, contact the museum at whiteville@naturalsciences.org or call 910.788.5100.
